The Home Tour

Once we have decided on homes we will want to view, we will set up an appointment to see the home. If a home is occupied, we will want to give the seller at least an hour’s notice so they can have the home looking its best for us.

The seller should leave the home so we will be able to walk through in private. A keybox is typically on the front door allowing access to the home.

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as home shopping does require stamina! We will most likely look at a MAXIMUM of 5-8 homes in one day, as the mind tends to forget the first house by the time it sees the eighth.

When we view homes, we will rank them in order and discard the listings of homes that are not of interest. As we narrow the search we will most likely go back to the top favorites for a second showing.

As we focus on a home, we can ask for details such as the seller’s disclosures and utility bill information. We will also research tax rates, if the property is in a flood zone, HOA dues, and schools. A Market Analysis will also tell us how homes are selling in the area and help us determine how much we would like to offer on the home.
